In the last two years there have been numerous deaths caused by interesting means. Death by hockey skate, elephant, surfboard, badminton racket, and butterfly remains, just to name a few.
Below you’ll find five of the strangest deaths since 2023.
Justyn Vicky – July 17th, 2023
On July 15th, 2023, 33-year-old Indonesian bodybuilder and social media influencer, Justyn Vicky was working out in a Bali gym. While one friend spotted him another recorded Vicky, he attempted to squat over 400 pounds. Unfortunately neither Vicky nor his spotter could hold on as the weight slid and snapped his head forward. Vicky died in the hospital two days later.
Giacomo Chiapparini – August 6th, 2023
74-year-old Italian, Giacomo Chiapparini was crushed underneath thousands of Grana Padano cheese wheels when one of the shelves collapsed. Each wheel of cheese weighs approximately 88 pounds.
Giulia Manfrini – October 18th, 2024
36-year-old Italian surfer, Giulia Manfrini died while surfing near the coast of West Sumatra, Indonesia, after a swordfish pierced her chest. There’s some discrepancy as to whether it was a swordfish or needle fish.
Johnnie Lloyd Turner – October 22nd, 2024
Johnnie Lloyd Turner was a 76-year-old member of the Kentucky Senate. On September 15th of last year, Turner was mowing the lawn when he accidentally drove his riding lawnmower into an empty swimming pool. He died from his injuries a few weeks later.
Lester C Harvey Jr – December 9th, 2024
On a cold December day in 2024 a group of hunters chased a bear into a tree. As the group retreated from the bottom of the tree, one of the group shot the bear. The bear fell and struck 58-year-old Lester Harvey, killing him. The bear also died.
